Jacklyn maddux

Audience Development

Jacklyn Maddux is an actor, playwright and Certified teacher of the Alexander Technique. As a past member of Third Rail Repertory Theatre, along with acting, she helped with audience development. Prior to moving to Portland, she was producer for Tania Myren’s play Plainsong. This play was site specific and produced at the Empire Mine State Historical Park in Grass Valley, California using the old mining buildings as a backdrop to this adventure in the old West. The play was a new experience for the park and for park visitors. Jacklyn helped develop an audience for both. Audience members said they saw their park differently after the play and now planned to visit more often. Along with audience development, Jacklyn helped to produce her own play, Strange Sightings In The Great Southwest in New York City.  When she moved to Portland, this play was nominated for the Oregon Book Award.
